Learning Outcomes

  1.  LO1- Students will effectively design instruction (unit plan and daily lesson plan) for student learning with a score of “meets standard” or higher on the rubric.

  2. LO2 - Students will create effective assessments to measure and inform student learningwith a score of “meets standard” or higher on the rubric.

  3.  LO3 - Students will apply pedagogical skills in an agriculture classroom setting to demonstrate overall effective teaching competency (27/36 and 80%)
    1. Assessment Tool: ASTE 4150- Microteaching packets-- on rubric- meets standard (30/36)
    2. Assessment Tool: ASTE 5630- Ag Ed Cooperating Final Evaluation of Teaching—(80% or higher)
  4.  LO4 - Students will demonstrate how to implement the 3-circle model of agricultural education, including FFA and SAE into their teaching practices with 80% accuracy.

Plan for assessment

When: Data collection by May 31. Program meetings with faculty during the summer term to discuss the data and identify areas for improvement. Implement curricular adjustments by September 1. Assessment plan revisions complete and posted to the website by October 1.

How: analyze data and produce an annual report. An outcome data report for each objective will be produced. Program lead will oversee this effort. Each course instructor will be responsible for sharing and analyzing their data as it pertains to the evaluation plan. Data will be discussed after analysis in the summer.

Notes: After 2022, we realized we needed to change the objectives to be better measurable with outcome levels. This also impacted the assessments we chose to measure these outcomes.

The PPAT was discontinued after Spring 2024. Thus, new data sources will be needed to evaluate the objectives in future years. We also realize we need to modify our objectives to include Disciplinary Knowledge (DK) and Skills and Career Competencies (SCC) objectives. The 2024-2025 plan is modified.
