Biography
Keri Holt is a professor of English and American Studies in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences. Her research involves representations of regional spaces in American literature, and she is currently working on a book project that explores how U.S. explorers relied on translations of Spanish colonial exploration narratives to obtain information about human interactions with the arid spaces of the American southwest, as well as their engagement with and appropriation of Indigenous practices for living in the American southwest. She also teaches an experiential learning general education class addressing US policies and human engagement with federal public lands.
