Biography
Tayler LaSharr is an assistant professor of movement ecology in the WILD department. She is an ecologist who is largely interested in understanding the mechanisms of animal behavior, decision making, and energy allocation, particularly in the context of environmental change. Her work has largely focused on big game populations, and she investigates a wide range of questions ranging how hunting influences horn or antler size to the role of extreme weather events in shaping survival, reproduction, and population dynamics. She bridges movement ecology, nutritional ecology, and remote sensing to lead science that can produce tangible and achievable actions that improve wildlife habitat and conserve populations. Her work is largely collaborative, and she works closely with a diversity of people to address wildlife conservation and management questions, including NGO, management, and academic partners.
