Biography

Melany's research focuses on identifying the spatial and temporal overlap between moose and human recreators in the greater Park City area, a region experiencing increasing moose-human conflict. By identifying where and when moose and recreators are most likely to overlap, we can pinpoint hotspots where conflict potential may be greatest. These findings will inform targeted outreach and education focused on seasonal changes in moose behavior, with the goal of increasing public awareness and proactively reducing harmful human-wildlife interactions.
