Kaitlyn is pursuing a Master's in Ecology in the Wildlife Resources Department. Her research is broadly focused on the climate and habitat variables that influence Western Toad occupancy and demographics in Utah. In addition to being a graduate student, she also works for the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources as a Native Aquatics Biologist in the Central Region. She'll be the first to admit that fish, mollusks and amphibians may not be the typical taxa you'd expect human-wildlife conflicts from. However, conflicts like illegal introduction, illegal collection, grazing, habitat degradation, and water rights conflicts are all issues that affect the species she works to monitor and manage.
