Alex Rasmussen

Biography

Alex Rasmussen is a student at Utah State University pursuing a master’s degree in Environmental Planning with an undergraduate degree in Landscape Architecture. Alex began college intending to become a civil engineer, driven by his interest in how cities function. However, he found a clear sense of purpose through his study of landscape architecture and excitement about a career that would allow him to creatively contribute to solution-building for the public good. He is passionate about the data and research aspects that inform design, which influenced his decision to pursue a master’s degree in environmental planning. His thesis interest has focused on the role of city planners in addressing housing shortages and supply, and how city planning intersects with homeless service system solution-building in Utah. Apart from work and school, Alex enjoys spending time outside and attending concerts.
