Climate Adaptation Planning through a Landscape Lens
November 20th at 4 p.m. MST

About Lecture:

As communities across the West face increasingly extreme climate impacts, including flooding, drought, heat, and wildfire, landscape architects are uniquely positioned to lead adaptation efforts. SCAPE Principal Laura Marett will discuss an approach to shaping climate adaptation planning through a landscape perspective. The talk will highlight the firm's work with UC Berkeley to craft the Landscape Climate Adaptation Plan, a framework that assesses climate risk and translates it into landscape strategy across plant palettes, materials, and stewardship practices. She will explore what it means for landscape architects to lead, not just support, climate adaptation efforts at multiple scales, from campus planning to community-level resilience.
