Project Summary

Restoring the West: Bridging Science and Practice brings back a highly acclaimed meeting, previously held annually from 2006 to 2022 at Utah State University, at a critical time for western landscapes. A wide range of plenary speakers will share successes and failures, lessons learned, and prospects for the future in a collaborative, engaging format that allows plenty of time for questions, discussion, and conversation.

Attendees will hear thought-provoking keynotes, dive into the science of restoring western ecosystems, and network with friends and colleagues over lunches and breaks.

Restoring the West: Bridging Science and Practice leverages UFRI’s role as an accessible hub where actionable, state-of-the-art knowledge and data about forest and fire management are shared freely, and as a convener and facilitator of workshops and trainings to build a community of practice in Utah.
