Tyler Williams

Tyler was the crew lead for the 2025 UFRI season. Originally born and raised in Nebraska, he later pursued a BS from South Dakota State University in Ecology and Environmental Science with an emphasis in botany, and he is currently a graduate student at USU. He works with Dr. Karen Beard on a project to characterize the effects of warming, flooding, and herbivory on greenhouse gas fluxes and plant community characteristics in coastal western Alaska. After completing his master's, he plans to pursue a Ph.D. in the realm of plant ecology. In his free time, he enjoys any outdoor activity (hiking, camping, rock climbing, learning new plants, etc.), reading, spending time and going out with friends, and playing the violin in the Cache Symphony Orchestra.
