Opportunities
A favorite part of Dr. Lant's job is mentoring graduate students, which have included 13 PhD and 26 Master’s Students. He continues to be on the lookout for new graduate students to share ideas and support with projects.
I have worked in Chris Lant's lab for over two years as a Research Assistant and as a master's student. Chris is a great mentor because he is always sharing his vast knowledge, he is understanding, and he is great at communicating. I find the research topics in Chris' lab very interesting because we take a broad look at complex systems like agriculture, water use, and ecology to find patterns. We use geographic tools and big data to find out about the ways that humans shape the environment. I have gained lots of skills and been a part of every step of the scientific research process.
The courses Dr. Lant currently teaches include:
- ENVS 2340 Natural Resources and Society
- ENVS 3010: Fundamentals of Natural Resource and Environmental Policy
- ENVS 4350/6350: Ecological Economics
