Cardiac Arrhythmias - AF Goats


Recently, we developed a novel cardiac specific hTGF-β1 transgenic goat with an underlying atrial cardiomyopathy and increased susceptibility to AF when compared to wild-type (WT) control animals. More specifically, the MHC-TGF-β1cys33ser fragment containing the goat αMHC promoter was subcloned into the pcDNA3.1D vector. The NEON transfection system was used to electroporate primary goat fetal fibroblasts from a wild-type Nubian/Boer background. This model has also shown spontaneous, self-terminating AF episodes
