The Quinney College Club Funding Requests

The Quinney College offers funding opportunities to support student clubs in creating meaningful experiences for their student members and the broader community. This funding is designed to help clubs enhance professional development, foster outreach, and organize activities that enrich student engagement. By providing financial assistance, the college aims to encourage collaboration, leadership, and learning beyond the classroom, ensuring that clubs have the resources they need to thrive and make a positive impact. Below are the guidelines and funding proposal requirements.

General guidelines

  • Up to $500 will be provided to any single club per academic year. In general, requests up to $200 per academic year are most likely to be approved.
  • Funds are limited! Clubs are encouraged to apply by Oct 1st in fall semester and February 1st in Spring semester for priority consideration.
  • Clubs that obtain funding are asked to take pictures of the events the funding supports and share with the associate dean to use on social media, the website, or other college/department materials.
  • Clubs must be in good standing, entailing:
    • An active faculty advisor
    • Host at least two professional development, outreach, or other activities each semester
    • Participate in the QANR opening social
    • Have up-to-date information on club leadership, contact info, and a club website and/or social media page listed on the QANR website

To request funding

Once your club has met the requirements above, prepare a short 1-2 page proposal that includes the following information:

  • Name and purpose of the club
  • Contact information for student leadership
  • Faculty advisor name and contact information
  • A summary of how the funding will be used, e.g. conferences, competitions, outreach events, etc.
  • At least 25% of your total funding should come from sources other than the dean's office. We strongly encourage clubs to request funding from their respective department head before submitting a proposal to the dean’s office.
  • Include an itemized budget that lists each of the anticipated expenses, the amount for each, and what expenses, if any, are funded by other sources.
  • A list of the other funding sources and the amounts of funding you have received or expect to receive from departments, individuals, or other fundraising efforts
  • If your club received funding from the college last year, explain how it was used and include an itemized expense list.

Proposals should be reviewed and approved by your faculty advisor. Once you have received approval from a faculty member, send your proposal to Mateja Savoie Roskos (Mateja.savoie@usu.edu) Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Student Services.
