The Jamison Geoscience Education Scholarship

The Jamison Geoscience Education Scholarship was established in recognition of Paul Jamison's wife and parents. It will support undergraduate students of the Geo Department. These students will either 1) major in Earth Science Composite Teaching, 2) be involved in local or Utah Geology or Paleontology Research, or 3) participate in community outreach through the Geo Department, which can include working in or through the Museum of Geology.

In Paul's own words, "This endowment is in recognition of my parents, Steve and Rita Jamison, and my wife Michelle, for their support of my career in Earth Science education and my passion for the rocks and fossils in the mountains surrounding Cache Valley. It is our goal to encourage young educators and enthusiasts of the geosciences to keep exploring, keep discovering, keep learning, and keep teaching about the amazing rocks that surround us.

"This endowment also recognizes the enduring legacy of USU Geosciences faculty and friends in my life, who for over 40 years have been my teachers, mentors, and friends. It's great to finally have the opportunity to give something back to the department that nurtured my interests and provided so much support over the years. Long live USU Geosciences!"
