USU Wildland Fire Club - Wildland Fire Training

Workshop/Training

The WILD 2450 Wildland Fire Operations course is provided in conjunction with the USU Wildland Fire Club and is now an approved USU course, if you wish university credit. This training is a combination of three National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) courses including, S130 - Wildland Firefighter Training, S190 - Introduction to Fire Behavior, L180 - Human Factors on the Fireline. These courses, in part, qualify one as a Wildland Firefighter 2 (FFT2) in IQCS (Incident Qualifications and Certification System - commonly referred to as being Red Carded). To be a Wildland Firefighter with most local, state, and federal land and fire management agencies and contractors, one needs to complete S130/S190/L180 to be qualified as a Wildland Firefighter 2 (FFT2) in IQCS. Upon successful completion of S130/S190/L180 students will be issued NWCG Training Course Completion Certificates.
