How Does It Work?
The Mobile Food Pantry offers both a drive-through and walk-up option for patrons:
Drive Through
- When you arrive at the Maverik Stadium parking lot, volunteers will help you park your car and get you signed in. You’ll wait in your car until it’s your turn to drive through the food distribution line! Volunteers will load food into your trunk or backseat as you drive through the line.
- Utah Food Bank guidelines allow up to 3 households per vehicle. A representative must be present from each household to sign the income verification sheet and receive food for their household.
- Tip: Arrive early (before the distribution starts at 9am) to guarantee your spot in line!
Walk Up
- The walk-up line is for patrons without access to a car. Walk-up patrons will sign in and wait at the SNAC tent. Volunteers will then help you walk down the food distribution line to gather your food.
- Important: If you come to the Mobile Food Pantry in a car, you must wait in the drive-through line.
- Tip: Bring reusable bags, backpacks, a wagon, or even a suitcase to help carry your food!
Sign-In Process
When you arrive at the Mobile Food Pantry, a volunteer will bring you a sign-in sheet. By filling out the sign-in sheet, you are verifying that your household income falls within the guidelines set by Utah Food Bank (see the income guidelines above). The sign-in sheet asks for the following information:
- Name and signature
- # of people in your household
- Utah resident? (Yes/No)
- Current USU student? (Yes/No)
Not sure if your household meets the income guidelines? Use this poverty level calculator.
You do not need to bring pay stubs, ID, or proof of residency to the Mobile Food Pantry.
You must be either a Utah resident OR a current USU student to receive food from the Mobile Food Pantry.
Volunteer with the Mobile Food Pantry!
Help fight food insecurity on campus and in the community by directing traffic, signing in guests, loading food into cars, breaking down boxes, and assisting with clean-up. Every helping hand makes a difference!
Volunteers will meet in the Maverik Stadium parking lot on Lars Hansen Drive at 8:30AM. Volunteers must be over 18 years of age. Close-toed shoes are required.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where does the food come from?
The food at the Mobile Food Pantry is donated from Utah Food Bank.
Can I sign up to volunteer more than one month in advance?
Please contact us at snac@usu.edu if you would like to sign up to volunteer more than one month in advance.
I can’t make it to the Mobile Food Pantry myself. Can someone else pick up food for me?
Unfortunately, food cannot be picked up on behalf of another household. A member of the household must be present in order to receive food from the Mobile Food Pantry.
If you are unable to make it to the Mobile Food Pantry and are in need of food assistance, check out the SNAC pantry on campus (for USU students, faculty, and staff) or the Cache Community Food Pantry (for qualifying members of the community).
Does the Mobile Pantry offer food items that accommodate dietary restrictions?
Because food donations vary each time, we do not know what items will be available until the morning of the Mobile Pantry. However, there is usually a wide variety of food available, allowing guests to choose items that fit their dietary needs and preferences. If you have food allergies or dietary restrictions, you may also request that certain items not be placed in your car.
Can I donate food to the Mobile Food Pantry?
We do not take food donations at the Mobile Food Pantry. The best places to take your food donations would be the SNAC pantry on campus (TSC 332B) or the Cache Community Food Pantry (359 Main St, Logan, UT).
What if I want to volunteer and also receive food from the Mobile Food Pantry?
Volunteers who would like to receive a full load of food may sign the sign-in sheet when they arrive. During the distribution, volunteers can collect their food and either set it aside or place it in their vehicle.
Can I bring my kids to volunteer with me?
Per Utah Food Bank guidelines, volunteers must be over 18 years of age.
What happens if there is leftover food at the Mobile Food Pantry?
Any leftover food is distributed to the Cache Community Food Pantry and the SNAC pantry on campus.
