OPDD 10 Year Anniversary Lecture: Hap Klopp

Lecture/Readings

Join us in celebrating a decade of innovation, creativity, and impact in the Outdoor Product Design & Development (OPDD) program with a special keynote lecture by Hap Klopp, the visionary former President and CEO of The North Face. For nearly two decades, Klopp led The North Face from a small mountaineering company to one of the world’s most recognized outdoor brands, shaping the modern outdoor industry and setting new standards in design, performance, and sustainability. His leadership and entrepreneurial spirit have inspired countless professionals, students, and adventurers to push boundaries and reimagine what’s possible. To commemorate the 10th Anniversary of the OPDD program, Klopp will share stories from his time building The North Face, lessons on leadership and innovation, and insights into the future of the outdoor industry. This event is a rare opportunity to hear directly from a pioneer whose work has defined the products, culture, and values of the outdoor community. Come celebrate this milestone with us as we honor the past, look to the future, and continue to build a legacy of design education that equips the next generation of outdoor innovators.
